Developed by renowned woodturner Ashley Harwood, this negative rake scraper excels at making clean, chatter-free cuts in dense woods or those with tricky grain.

The double-ended blade is CPM 10V, a high-vanadium (10%) powder metal steel known for its exceptional toughness and wear resistance. It holds an edge significantly longer than M2 high-speed steel, so you can spend more time at the lathe and less sharpening. CBN wheels are recommended for resharpening.

Ground from 1/4" × 1 1/4" bar stock, the blade is substantial enough to resist vibration, helping to produce smooth surfaces that need minimal sanding. One end has a 30° right-hand skew, the other a swept-back curvature; both have 20° bevels. Hardened to Rc62-64.

The two halves of the rubberized plastic handle are held together by magnets, making it quick and easy to switch between cutting ends. A bullseye level in the upper half provides a visual cue for keeping the blade in the optimal cutting orientation.

Measures 11 1/2" overall; blade projects 5 1/2".

A superb tool for finishing and detail cuts. Made in USA.
