BeaverCraft has been producing well-made yet affordable tools in Kyiv, Ukraine, since 2014. Known for their well-thought-out DIY carving kits, they have continued to expand their product line and reputation, despite the enormous challenges of operating in a war zone.
This leatherworking kit provides all the materials, tools and supplies needed to make a classic leather wallet. For those new to the craft, the paper templates and step-by-step instructions – supported by an online video (link provided in the kit) – offer clear guidance from start to finish. For experienced leatherworkers, the precut leather pieces allow you to focus on stitching and assembly.
The kit includes leather for one wallet base, one bill pocket and two card pockets. The full-grain chrome-tanned cowhide leather is 1.6mm to 1.8mm thick (about 4 oz) with a wax finish, giving it a matte, velvety surface that develops a rich luster through long-term wear.
The kit also comes with hole punches and a small hammer for making stitch holes, a small tile for use as a punch surface, and 14 pages of patterns for personalizing your wallet with letters, numbers and other punched designs. Also supplied are waxed thread, needles, edge-finishing cream, snips, sandpaper, masking tape and a microfiber cloth, as well as a leather key-chain blank that you can practice on before working on the wallet.
