06J1902 - 1/2" Strongbore Extension
To facilitate deeper boring when hollowing or turning than the regular bit alone allows, this extension mounts in the lathe’s tailstock without the need for a drill chuck or additional MT adapter.
It consists of three parts – a #2 MT adapter, an extender rod, and a bit holder for 1/2" shanks. Measuring 10 1/2" in length with a 2 1/2" long Morse taper, it is machined from 3/4" diameter rod stock and has enough mass and rigidity to dampen vibrations and ensure a smooth cut.
Ideal for crafting workpieces that require a longer hole, such as pepper mills or lamps.
We offer an additional holder for 3/8" shank bits (sold separately) so you can swap out the 1/2" holder that comes with the extension.
