A vernier scale permits further micro-adjustment in 1/10° increments. The indexing pin can also be disengaged to permit free rotation of the protractor.
The 18 1/4" extruded aluminum fence, which extends to 31", has a T-track to mount a sacrificial sub-fence up to 3/4" thick, and an integral scale for direct reading. Adjustable expansion discs in the 3/8" × 3/4" steel slider bar provide low-friction travel and remove lateral play within the miter slot.
For accurate repeat cuts, the stop has dual flip-down arms (adjustable in 1/32" increments) that let you switch between two different cut lengths within 4" of each other without having to reset the stop position.
