With high-speed steel cutting edges bonded to a steel cup, these hole saws have the added advantage of variable pitch teeth.
The repeating pattern of teeth (varying from 15° of rake with large gullets to 0° of rake with shallow gullets) and the variable pitch (4 to 6 tpi) give smooth cutting in a wide variety of materials. The constantly changing hook angles and spacing eliminate chatter and increase cutting efficiency. The alternately set teeth cut a smoother hole than the standard wavy pattern.
Two styles of mandrels are available separately: a standard mandrel for hole saws up to 2 1/4" and a heavy-duty mandrel for use with all of the hole saws.
