Spalted Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) – Spalting typically occurs in the pale, butter-yellow sapwood, creating contrasting patterns of wavy black lines. The dense, hard wood has interlocked grain and a medium texture, so it is moderately difficult to work, and it dulls tools quickly.
Available in two sizes suitable for small turnings, these blanks can also be useful when you need only a small amount of wood, such as for inlays, plugs, splines or other decorative accents.
