Our Bench Pups are 2 3/8" long round bench dogs made from solid brass rod and can be installed in any bench by drilling a 3/4" hole. Brass dogs are non-corroding and kind to your tools. Bench Pups are fine for benches with tops up to 2" thick and ideal for bench sides; just drill holes in the skirt or the edge of the top.
The combined crosshatching and 2° inward slope of the face hold wood securely. The side spring lets the Bench Pup slide smoothly, but holds it well at any desired projection.

Brass won't corrode the way bare steel can, and it's soft enough that it won't mar or dull the edge tools that occasionally brush against it during use.
Yes, they're well suited to a bench's skirt or side edge as well as the top, since installation only requires drilling a 3/4" hole wherever a dog is needed.
