Misenheimer Router Bits

Founded in 1981, Misenheimer Inc. has built its reputation supplying precision tooling to woodworkers, cabinetmakers, and CNC operators. Made in the USA from solid carbide and precision-honed on 600-grit diamond wheels, these bits cut with a continuous shearing action to reduce chatter and leave a clean edge.

Upcut spiral bits have two flutes that draw chips toward the shank, much like a drill bit, leaving a clean edge on the opposite face of the work. They pull the router and workpiece together to help maintain accuracy, and clear waste efficiently, allowing faster cuts without overheating, which helps prolong edge life. A versatile choice for plunging, mortising, grooving, slitting, blind routing and end milling.

Down-cut spiral bits draw chips toward the tip, leaving a clean edge on the face of the work that’s nearest the shank. For minimal material removal and shallow cuts, a down-cut bit is often preferable but typically requires slower travel to ensure adequate chip clearance.

For clean edges on both faces of the work, compression bits combine upcut flutes at the tip and down-cut flutes at the shank end, shearing fibers toward the center of the workpiece for exceptionally clean cuts. Because they evacuate chips less aggressively, they work best at a slower feed rate to prevent clogging and overheating.
