A worthy addition to any carver’s tool kit, these unusual files are held with both hands, yielding a smooth, rapid cutting action with excellent control.
The two-handed grip lets you apply considerable force with little effort. Heat-treated to retain their cutting edges through extended use, the teeth shear wood fibers rather than abrading them, creating shavings instead of dust. Drawn toward you at a slight angle, they have a single-cut diagonal groove pattern that helps clear shavings to the side, reducing clogging.
Their half-round profile is a good choice for shaping contoured surfaces. For use on hardwood and softwood as well as plastics and other synthetic materials, they are 8" in overall length with toothed portions about 2" wide and a textured coating at the ends for grip. Available with bastard (coarse) and medium tooth patterns.
Made in Japan.
