05P8003 - Veritas Miniature Cabinetmaker's Trimming Plane
This fully functional 1:3-scale version of our cabinetmaker's trimming plane is a useful tool for reaching places a regular-size plane or chisel just won’t fit. Only 2 3/16" long, 5/8" wide and less than 1" in height, it excels at making precise paring cuts in tight spots, such as a box interior.
The 25° bevel blade and 15° bed angle yield an effective cutting angle of 40°, severing end-grain fibers cleanly and minimizing tearing. The exposed full-width blade lets you work up to adjacent surfaces and can be set flush with the sole for trimming without marring.
Made from investment-cast stainless steel with machined sides and a ground sole, it is comfortable to hold and use. The 5/32" thick blade is A2 tool steel, the lever cap is stainless steel, and the rear tote is walnut.
Made in Canada, it comes in a French-fitted embossed leatherette presentation box.
