While quantities last, we’re offering this heat gun and shrink-tubing set at a saving of over 15% compared to the cost of buying them individually.
With a heat gun, being able to regulate both temperature and airflow helps ensure you don’t overheat your target. This one features a dial-operated variable-heat control system for setting temperatures from 45° to 500°C (110° to 930°F) and a two-speed fan to deliver 7.3 or 15 cfm of airflow, making it easy to choose settings appropriate to a wide range of tasks. The gun is well made, with a heating element encased in ceramic to prevent damage from shocks, and an integrated thermostat to prevent overheating. 1200 watts, cETLus listed.
The gun comes with a 171-piece assortment of polyolefin shrink tubing in ten color-coded sizes, with internal diameters (before shrinking) ranging from 2mm (5/16") to 18mm (45/64"), making it easy to select the right size for the job. At about 110°C (230°F), the tubing shrinks by up to half its diameter with no change in length, molding around surface irregularities or items of different diameters. The tubing is simple to use; just slide it over the connection you want to bind and heat it with a torch or heat gun for a few seconds. This creates a seamless jacket that offers good electrical insulation and is strong, flexible and resistant to water, abrasion and solvents. While commonly used for sheathing wire connections, shrink tubing has numerous uses around the shop, from color-coding bits and cables to replacing whipping on cord ends (like a shoelace tip). A great assortment to have at hand.
